North Shore Girls Softball League is partnering with Powerhouse Mechanics to provide:

• FREE pitching clinics
• Fully PAID private or semi-private pitching lessons for our 8U and 10U pitchers

This is a huge investment in our young athletes and we’re incredibly excited to roll this out. We will kick off this partnership with a FREE pitching clinic led by Coach Jason Luli-Kinsey, Founder of Powerhouse Mechanics:

When: Monday, January 26 at 5PM

Where: Carmel Valley Rec Center

Who: 8U and 10U pitchers, including players who are new to pitching or interested in learning more.

Go Deeper: After the clinic, Coach Jason will walk families through an exclusive pitching development program where North Shore will cover the full cost of private or semi-private pitching lessons for selected 8U and 10U pitchers. This is a unique opportunity to receive professional instruction at zero cost to families.

• 8U: 9AM
• 10U: 10:45AM 
• 12U: 12:30PM

What you will learn:

• Proper swing mechanics
• Balance, timing, and bat path
• Confidence and approach at the plate
• Drills players can take home and practice

This is a fun, instructional clinic for all players - whether you just started or are looking to bring your batting to the next level.

6U TO 14U DIVISIONS

Key Dates for 2025 Spring Recreational Season:

• January 24: Hitting Clinic

• January 26: Pitching Clinic (8U and 10U)

• January 30: Opening Night Ceremony

• January 31: Opening Day Games

• March 21: Picture Day

• April 23-26: End of Season Tournament

• May 1: All-Star Tryouts for 8U - 14U

*No games or practices during ski week or spring break

Practices are held at softball fields within the Carmel Valley area (Torrey Hills, Ocean Air, Solana Highlands, Carmel Del Mar, Pacific Highlands, Carmel Valley Rec Center, Ashley Falls). 

*Families with 2 or more players receive a 10% discount for each additional player when registering at the same time.

IMPORTANT NOTE Effective September 1, 2023, USA Softball changed the birth year classification for each age division.  North Shore is affording those players in 10U and 12U born between September 1 and December 31, who have completed 2 years in their current age division, the choice to remain in the same age division (for a third year), or move up to the next age division for the Spring Recreation season, if desired.  If the player elects to move up to the next age division for the Spring Recreational season, the player may elect to play Tide/All-Stars at EITHER AGE division.  All elections (Spring, Tide/All-Stars) must be confirmed at tryouts on January 6, 2026 or the subsequent make up date and will be effective through August 31, 2026.
